Unlock Nokia Mobile Phones with New No-Key Nokia X-SIM

A new product, compatible with most DCT4 and BB5 Nokia mobile phones, allows users to bypass the lock and utilize different service providers. The No-Key Nokia X-SIM can unlock Nokia mobile phones that operate with a SIM card, allowing phones to work in any network.

Most mobile phone service operators sell their Nokia mobile phones locked and the user must buy the phone together with the operator’s service package. With the No-Key Nokia X-SIM, the user can allow their Nokia mobile phone to utilize other networks where the airtime is cheaper. The working theory of the X-SIM is that each phone operates on an identification system. The mobile phone checks if the SIM card matches the operator. If so, it opens! if not, it doesn’t.

The X-SIM card gives a signal to the Nokia mobile phone simulating the original SIM card. So, phone never really unlocks, it just allows the user to operate in any network. It can still maintain the original warranty and can also install any of the latest firmware from Nokia without problems. So, there is no risk unlocking and no risk of doing any harm to the phone. The user will need to combine their SIM card with the X-SIM, then insert into the phones SIM slot. The cost for the No-Key Nokia X-SIM is $31.69 and can be ordered by visiting. Factory testing shows the No-Key Nokia X-SIM to unlock 2630, 5300, 5700, 6120c, 6110 navigator, 6500c, 6500s, N76, N95, N95 8GB, N61 8GB, E65, N73, N80, 6120c, N75, 6300, as well as all DCT4 and BB5 Nokia mobile phones.

Could this be the next Sony Ericsson Cybershot phone?

Unwired View has come out with some spy shots of what could be the next Sony Ericsson Cybershot phone. They got their images and info, a chinese website, which provides some details as to its possible specifications. With Sony Ericsson updating their Walkman line at CES, I say it’s just about time they do the same with their Cybershot line of phones. Based on what Unwired has gathered, it’s a 5-megapixel camphone with auto-focus and flash. The display is a 16M color QVGA and will come with a built-in GPS sensor. Looking at the images provided, it’s like a redesigned T650i with a ton of imaging features if it is expected to carry on the Cybershot title in its name. Design-wise, nothing seems to stand out at the moment, but since these are still unconfirmed and more importantly, unofficial, so nothing’s for sure until it’s finally released. Heck, we don’t even know what name it will have, but if we were to follow Sony Ericsson’s numbering scheme, possible model names are K870i, K830i or K780i.

Nokia commends approval of CDMA2000 1xEV-DV as 3G standard by the ITU

Nokia applauds the publication of CDMA2000 1xEV-DV (data and voice) by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the subsequent approval by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as an official 3G standard. This new specification was successfully supported by a number of companies, including Nokia, Motorola, Sprint and Texas Instruments. The CDMA2000 1xEV-DV standard represents a practical and efficient evolution path for CDMA2000 1x carriers transitioning to third generation networks.

With the CDMA2000 1xEV-DV solution and its ability to have voice and data users in the same band, carriers are able to best optimize the cost of deployment of their 3G network according to the real data needs of their customers, said Soren Petersen, senior vice president and general manager of CDMA for Nokia. Users also benefit from CDMA2000 1xEV-DV networks, not only from improved speeds, but by being able to simultaneously perform voice and data tasks on the same device, which Nokia sees as being an important piece of the 3G picture. CDMA2000 1xEV-DV offers peak data rates of 3-5 Mbps and a typical throughput rate of 1 Mbps in a 1.25 MHz frequency channel, all while providing operators the flexibility to balance their voice and data traffic by dynamically allocating bandwidth on demand. CDMA2000 1xEV-DV also enables services such as streaming video by providing a real-time packet data connection and` provides full legacy support for existing IS-95 and CDMA2000 1x devices.

International Wireless Inc teams with Bango.net to exploit new generation of camera-enabled handsets

The arrival of camera-enabled mobile phones from the world’s top three handset manufacturers; the MotorolaA820, the Nokia7560 and SonyEricsson’s P800 provides new opportunities to access information, services and graphics. Using new technology from a partnership between International Wireless and Bango.net, users can now simply point a seeing handset at a bar code and content is delivered straight to the mobile phone creating an instant transaction.“I could purchase theatre tickets by scanning a code on a poster or download a train timetable simply by scanning a bar code at the train station,” said Anil Malhotra, Director of Alliances at Bango.net. “There are endless possibilities such as this for people to receive highly targeted and up-to-date information when they are on the move.”

Content providers register the bar codes as Bango Numbers and then link these to specific content such as pictures, text, video and sound, located on mobile-enabled web sites and data servers. International Wireless’ CodePoint software interprets these symbols and sends a coded number to Bango.net where it is mapped onto a specific URL.

Nokia Cell Phone Comes With E-Mail, XHTML Browser

T-Mobile on Tuesday began offering the Nokia 6263, a classic clamshell cell phone with enhancements, such as e-mail capability and a XHTML browser. The Nokia 6263 is not a costly multimedia device like the ones by Nokia as part of its Nseries, but it does fulfill most basic functions required by mobile users. For example, the phone is capable of receiving e-mail with attachments and it can be used for Internet browsing via a built-in XHTML browser.

It also supports Java and Flash Lite, and can be synched to a desktop through Nokia’s PC Suite software, available as a free download. “Many customers are looking to own a device that offers the latest conveniences, and want all of those features in a stylish — but classically-styled — phone. The Nokia 6263 is designed expressly for those people,” said Frank Vium, Nokia’s vice president of sales, in a statement. While T-Mobile is still in the process of building out its third-generation cellular network, known as HSDPA, the Nokia 6263 is capable of supporting it. It also uses quad-band GSM/EDGE on the carrier’s existing network, which is much slower than HSDPA.

Additional features include a 1.3-megapixel camera with video recorder, music player, FM radio, and stereo Bluetooth. The Nokia 6263 can store up to 350 songs on a 512 MB memory card that’s included with the phone. That could be expanded to 3,000 songs with an optional 4 GB card. The phone offers about 3 hours of talk time or over 11 days of standby time. The phone is available immediately online and at select T-Mobile retail stores, according to the companies, but pricing isn’t yet available. Similar mid-range models, such as the Nokia 6103 and Nokia 6133, are being offered by T-Mobile for under $150 (some less with special offers).

The First Dual-Mode EDGE/UMTS Handset

Marco De Benedetti, Chief Executive Officer of TIM and Mauro Sentinelli, Managing Director, have launched an out-and-out revolution in the name of technological innovation: the third-generation services, in operation since May have been enhanced with the new potentialities of the “Combinational Services”, which offer customers the simultaneous use - during a telephone conversation, of voice, photo, video and text facilities. This evolution of the mobile telephony world is becoming accessible to an ever-greater number of users thanks to the use of the new range of TIM Turbo handsets that the Company launched in Italy in October through its own sales network. In particular the “Combinational Services” become fully operational through the NOKIA 6630, the first Dual-Mode EDGE/UMTS handset on the Italian market to enable a simple phone call to be transformed into a multimedia experience. With NOKIA 6630 that uses not only the UMTS but also the EDGE network it will be possible to converse and simultaneously exchange photos, videos, messages and electronic documents. In addition, the EDGE/UMTS handset with the “See what I see” service, thanks to its embedded videocamera, lets users video their surroundings and show them directly to their friends and family. In this way the cellphone annuls distance and makes a telephone conversation ever more similar to a personal conversation. All of this is possible thanks to TIM’s third-generation network comprising an EDGE and a UMTS component: the combination of both technologies enables TIM to repeat for its multimedia applications the success recorded in the introduction of the dual-band system as well as to provide high-quality services both within and outside buildings, on both networks without the customer being able to perceive any difference between them.
TIM, moreover, has extended the range of TIM Turbo handsets. The new UMTS handsets are the LG U8100, the LG U8150 and the Samsung Z107, while the newly arrived EDGE models are the Nokia 3220, the Motorola V547, the LG A7150 and the Samsung D500E. The new range of TIM Turbo handsets is accompanied by very attractive offers “to try out” 3G services for both new and existing TIM customers. The new PC navigation card “ONDA EDGE Card N775″ is also part of the new offer to TIM dealers. This personal computer card offers wireless navigation for downloading and sending files at speeds of up to five-times higher than GPRS (up until a maximum of 200 Kbit/s). The ONDA N775 card moreover, is designed to operate on all possible mobile radio transmission bands (850/900/1800/1900) in order to navigate freely throughout the world The novelties continue with a revolution regarding tariff offers, which is also addressed to the 3G world. In order to target young people TIM has launched “TIM Turbo Friends”, a new offer that allows three friends to participate free of charge in videocalls up until a maximum of 1,500 minutes of traffic and to communicate with MMS, photos and videos at very advantageous conditions. The new “Maxxi TIM All Inclusive” designed for mobile phone aficionados proposes, in a single solution, a TIM Turbo handset, 2,000 minutes of traffic a month, in addition to a large number of videocall, SMS, MMS, minutes and megabyte of navigation internet via Wap and Web, at very attractive prices.
